Terms and Conditions

Welcome to Consultr! These Terms and Conditions govern your use of our platform where individuals monetize expertise by offering consultancy sessions (excluding medical consultancy), and clients book these sessions. By using the Platform, you agree to these Terms.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By using the Platform, you agree to these Terms. We may update these Terms at any time; continued use means you accept updates.

2. The Platform

We connect Clients with Consultants offering expertise in any field except medical consultancy. We facilitate connections only—we don't employ Consultants, verify credentials, or guarantee service quality.

3. Eligibility

You must be 18+, provide accurate information, and keep login credentials secure. One account per person/business.

4. For Consultants

4.1 Offering Sessions

You may offer consultancy in any field except medical/healthcare. You control your rates and are responsible for session content, quality, and delivery. Honor all confirmed bookings.

4.2 Fees & Payouts

The Platform takes a 20% service fee. You receive 80% of session price (e.g., $100 session = $80 to you, $20 to Platform). Handle your own taxes as an independent contractor.

4.3 Cancellations

If you cancel a confirmed session, Clients receive full refund within 24 hours. Frequent cancellations may result in account suspension.

5. For Clients

5.1 Booking

Payment required at booking. By booking, you agree to pay the displayed price.

5.2 Refunds

Consultant cancellation = full refund within 24 hours. Client cancellation depends on Consultant's policy. No-shows aren't eligible for refunds. Use consultancy advice at your own risk.

6. Payments

Platform charges 20% service fee covering maintenance, payment processing, support, and infrastructure. Payments processed through secure third-party processors. Consultants receive 80% after session completion. Payouts subject to verification; may be held if fraud suspected.

7. Prohibited Conduct

You may not: offer/seek medical consultancy; provide false information; circumvent platform fees; harass users; share illegal content; use bots/scraping tools; impersonate others; violate laws; or interfere with Platform security.

8. Content & Reviews

You retain ownership of posted content but grant us license to use it for Platform operations and marketing. Reviews must be honest and genuine. We may remove content violating these Terms.

9. Privacy

Review our Privacy Policy to understand data practices. By using the Platform, you consent to these practices. We implement security measures but cannot guarantee absolute protection.

10. Disclaimers

THE PLATFORM IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES. We don't verify Consultant credentials or guarantee session quality/results. Consultants are independent contractors, not employees. We're not responsible for disputes between users or decisions you make based on sessions.

11. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED FEES YOU PAID IN THE PAST 12 MONTHS OR $100, WHICHEVER IS GREATER. We're not liable for service interruptions, data loss, or technical issues.

12. Indemnification

You agree to defend and hold us harmless from claims arising from your use of the Platform, violation of Terms, consultancy services, or content/actions.

13. Account Termination

You may close your account anytime. We may suspend/terminate your account for Terms violations, fraud, or at our discretion. Termination doesn't affect obligations for fees owed or liabilities incurred. Complete pending sessions appropriately.

14. Dispute Resolution

Disputes resolved through binding arbitration rather than court. You waive right to participate in class action lawsuits.

15. General Terms

These Terms constitute the entire agreement. If any provision is unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. We may modify the Platform or Terms anytime. You cannot transfer your account. Nothing creates a partnership or employment relationship.
